This policy covers the Site and communications that begin through it, such as a strategy discussion request or an email to us. Information we handle while performing services for a client is governed by our agreement with that client, not by this policy.

By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us. When you request a strategy discussion or contact us, we collect:

  • Your name

  • Your phone number

  • Your email address

  • Your preferred date and time for a discussion

  • Anything else you choose to tell us by form, email, phone, or messaging app, such as your company, role, and the technology environment or challenges you want to discuss

Please do not send passwords, system credentials, network diagrams, or other sensitive technical or regulated data through the Site or by unencrypted email. If an engagement requires that kind of information, we will arrange a secure way to exchange it.

Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, our hosting provider and the tools described in Section 4 collect:

  • IP address and approximate location derived from it

  • Browser type, device type, and operating system

  • Pages viewed, time spent, and the page that referred you to the Site

  • Cookie and similar identifiers

Information from other sources. We may receive business contact information from referral partners, public professional profiles, and business contact databases, and we may combine it with information you give us.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information such as government ID numbers, financial account numbers, or health information through the Site.

3. How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • Respond to inquiries and schedule and hold strategy discussions

  • Evaluate whether and how we can help your organization, and prepare proposals

  • Provide, manage, and bill for our services

  • Send information about our services, articles, and events that may interest you. You can opt out at any time (see Section 7).

  • Operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Site

  • Understand how visitors find and use the Site

  • Comply with legal obligations and protect our rights, our clients, and others

We do not use personal information collected through the Site to make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.

4. Cookies and analytics

The Site is built and hosted on the Wix platform. Wix places cookies and similar technologies on your device to keep the Site working, keep it secure, and measure how it performs.

Type

What it does

Essential

Loads pages, protects against fraud and abuse, remembers form state. The Site cannot work without these.

Analytics

Counts visits and shows which pages are read, so we can improve the Site.

Marketing

Measures the results of our advertising and may show you our ads on other sites.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block essential cookies, parts of the Site, including the contact form, may not work.

The Site links to our Facebook and LinkedIn pages and offers a link to call or message us. Those services collect information under their own privacy policies once you click through.

The Site does not currently respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals.

5. How we share information

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

We share personal information only in these situations:

  • Service providers. Companies that host the Site, store form submissions, provide email, scheduling, customer relationship management, and analytics, and support our marketing. They may use the information only to perform services for us.

  • Advisors and partners on your engagement. With your knowledge, members of our advisory network or strategic partners whose expertise is needed to respond to your request.

  • Professional advisers. Our attorneys, accountants, and insurers, where needed.

  • Legal and safety. When required by law, subpoena, or court order, or when needed to protect the rights, property, or safety of HUME-IT, our clients, or others.

  • Business transfers. In connection with a merger, sale, or reorganization of our business. The recipient must honor this policy or give you notice of changes.

  • With your consent. In any other case, only when you ask or agree.

6. Retention and security

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy. Inquiry and contact records are kept while we have an active or prospective business relationship with you and for a reasonable period afterward. Records tied to a client engagement are kept as long as our contract, tax, and legal obligations require. You may ask us to delete your information sooner (see Section 7).

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encrypted connections to the Site and limited access to contact records. No website, email system, or storage method is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we learn of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as the law requires.

7. Your choices and rights

Marketing email. Use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or write to info@humeit.com. We may still send messages about an active engagement or request.

Access, correction, and deletion. You may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info@humeit.com. We will verify your identity and respond within 45 days, or sooner where the law requires. We will not treat you differently for making a request.

State privacy rights. Depending on where you live, state law may give you additional rights, including the right to obtain a copy of your information, to opt out of targeted advertising or the sale of personal information, and to appeal a decision we make on your request. We honor valid requests from residents of any U.S. state. To appeal a decision, reply to our response or email info@humeit.com with "Privacy Appeal" in the subject line.

Authorized agents. Someone you authorize may make a request for you. We may ask for proof of that authority.

8. Children, international visitors, and other sites

Children. The Site is intended for business professionals. It is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

International visitors. HUME-IT operates in the United States, and information we collect is stored and processed in the United States and in other countries where our service providers operate. Privacy laws in those places may differ from the laws where you live. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we process your information because you asked us to respond to a request, because we have a legitimate interest in running and promoting our business, or because you consented. You may contact us to exercise rights available under your local law.

Other sites. The Site links to websites and services we do not control, including partner sites and social media. This policy does not apply to them. Review their privacy policies before giving them information.

9. Changes to this policy and how to contact us

We may update this policy as our practices or the law change. We will post the updated version on this page and change the effective date above. If a change materially affects how we use information we already hold, we will give more prominent notice.
